Introduction

What is a chart control?

Charts are used to represent data in several forms. A chart is a graphical representation of data, in which “the data is represented by symbols, such as bars in a bar chart, lines in a line chart, or slices in a pie chart”. A chart can represent tabular numeric data, functions or some kinds of qualitative structure and provides different info.

 

Four types of charts:

  1. Line chart
  2. Bar chart
  3. Pie chart
  4. Map chart

Types

Charts can be used to:

Line chart

Represents data in a dashboard as a line chart.

Bar chart

Bar chart represent a specific data set within a time duration.

Pie chart

Bar charts used to present data as percentages.

 

Another type of pie chart can be used when showing prominent statistics in main home pages.

Map chart

The graph shows data according to its location on the map. A pop-up message displays the details of the selected location.
